Cows and Co Directors Stuart MacLennan and Maurice Walton have been
working on a collaborative project with a collective of Cumbrian farmers with a view to creating a new range of unpasteurised Cheeses under the
Cows and Co banner.
The project is still very much in its infancy but is an exciting opportunity for us and for the farmers involved. In order to develop a range of unpasteurised cheeses we will need to develop increased processing capacity. This will require significant investment, and with the support of local MP Rory Stewart we have been selected as a case study to be involved in discussions with Environment Secretary Elizabeth Truss. Below is a press release from DEFRA today explaining the opportunity for access to funding. We are delighted to be involved at such a high level of discussions and hope that our input will assist in opening up funding opportunities throughout the Agri-Food sector.
