Fantastic flavour, lovely straight from the oven with melted butter!

What You Need:
– 100g Grated Vintage Cheddar
– 450g Self Raising Flour
– 2 Level Teaspoons Baking Powder
– 100g Butter
– Milk to bind

What to Do:
Rub the butter into flour until mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
Mix through 80g of grated cheese. Bring together with a round ended knife adding milk a little at a time to bind the mixture (soft to the touch not sticky).
Press out the mixture with your hand.
It needs to be 1 inch thickness, use a cutter of any size, top with remaining cheese and bake at 180°C / Gas mark 4 until cooked.
To check scones are cooked, check bottoms to see if they are a golden brown.
You could add a pinch mustard powder or chopped chives to add a difference.
